Large pseudoaneurysm following right ventricle to pulmonary artery homograft placement in an infant

چکیده
Pseudoaneurysm (PSA) is a known but rare complication of the right ventricle to pulmonary artery (RV-PA) conduits. The patient's clinical presentation can be variable ranging from asymptomatic to potential rupture. We describe an unusual case of a massive PSA in an infant who underwent RV-PA pulmonary homograft placement after relief of right ventricular outflow tract obstruction.

Dysfunctional pulmonary artery conduit and co-existing large pseudoaneurysm: well-suited for a percutaneous approach with the Melody valve?
Pseudoaneurysm formation is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication after surgical repair of congenital heart disease. We present a boy with truncus arteriosus communis 14 years after homograft placement in pulmonary position. On follow-up, he presented progressive chronic homograft degeneration. Moreover, a large pseudoaneurysm in the right ventricular outflow tract was surprising...
متن کاملPSEUDOANEURYSM OF RIGHT VENTRICLE DUE TO LOCALIZED TUBERCULOSIS OF MYOCARDIUM: A CASE REPORT
A 5-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital with chest pain, fever and dyspnea. Physical examination showed normal heart sounds, diminished pulmonary sounds in the left hemithorax and a normal ECG. On chest X-ray the heart was slightly enlarged with moderate left pleural effusion. CT scan revealed pleural effusion and a hypodense mass at the apex of the heart. A cystic mass was detected...
متن کاملPercutaneous tricuspid valve implantation in a Fontan patient with congestive heart failure and protein-losing enteropathy.
A 47-year-old patient visited our outpatient clinic. She was born with tricuspid atresia with normally connected great arteries without pulmonary stenosis (type Ic); a ventricular septal defect connected the pulmonary artery and hypoplastic right ventricle (RV) with the left ventricle. When she was 14 years old, a Fontan-Bjork procedure was performed.1 The atrial and the ventricular septal defe...
متن کاملLeft Main Coronary Artery Compression following Melody Pulmonary Valve Implantation: Use of Impella Support as Rescue Therapy and Perioperative Challenges with ECMO
The purpose of this case is to describe the complex perioperative management of a 30-year-old woman with congenital heart disease and multiple resternotomies presenting with pulmonary homograft dysfunction and evaluation for percutaneous pulmonary valve replacement. Transvenous, transcatheter Melody valve placement caused left main coronary artery occlusion and cardiogenic shock. An Impella ven...
متن کاملCombination of tetralogy of Fallot with absent pulmonary valve and left pulmonary artery originating from patent ductus arteriosus: A rare association in an infant
A 6-month-old female infant was transferred because of respiratory distress. A chest radiograph demonstrated a well delineated, huge mass on the upper and middle part of the right lung (Fig. 1). Twodimensional echocardiography showed dilatation of the right ventricle, main pulmonary artery (20 mm, z score +4.4) and right pulmonary artery (22 mm, z score +7.8) but dilatation of the left pulmonar...
